The importance of running water is raised at a meeting of the Island's Committee this morning.
Islander Laird Dinsmore said that while they have the fastest broadband in Europe on the island they have no running water.
He said there has been increased interest in people hoping to return to the island but he stressed the importance of having services on the island to facilitate them.
He also asked that a co-ordinated medical evacuation scheme be considered for the islands. Landing areas on the islands for emergency services could be agreed as part of this scheme.
