Tá Fathach i measc na nGael, Rónán Mac Aodha Bhuí, ag iarraidh leigheas a aimsiú

Suppport Ronán Mac Aodh Bhuí in his battle against cancer

Rónán Mac Aodha Bhuí

A well-known and much-loved broadcaster who has been battling cancer for the past 4 years is is now at a stage where a cure or surgery is not an option, in Ireland.

Rónán Mac Aodh Bhuí has spent decades working as a presenter in Raidió na Gaeltachta at their offices in Derrybeg. Rónán has been to the fore in organising Irish-language festivals and is recognised for his work across the island of Ireland. Often Rónán would broadcast live from the annual event Oireachtas na Gaeilge and at other important cultural events.

Is laoch é i measc na nGael agus táthar ag déanamh gach iarracht cuidiú leis san choimhlint seo. Is mór an obair atá déanta ag Rónán i gcur chun cinn na Gaeilge, an ceol agus an chultúr le blianta anuas.

Rónán has Stage 4 Colon cancer with metastases to liver and lung and has had 2 major surgeries and around 40 bouts of chemotherapy in the last few years. Rónán is currently receiving treatment at a clinic in Spain, and is organising other suitable treatments at clinics abroad. The cost of these treatments are hugely expensive.

Má fhaigheann sé go leor cóir leighis a laghdódh na cnapáin ailse ina chorp, tá seans ann go mbeadh Rónán ábalta obráid a fháil chun cuid de na cnapáin a bhaint amach.

The treatment could cost up to €180,000 and his family and friends are hoping for your support in reaching this goal. Click here to donate or go to gofundme Cista Tacaíochta Rónáin.

People from across the country have been donating and leaving inspiring notes to Ronán on the gofundme page. One such comment reads: "Fathach i measc na nGael is ea é Rónán."
