Plans for second pet crematorium in Donegal

Permission has been sought for a second pet crematorium in Donegal.

This week, Donegal County Council received a planning application for a facility in Inch Island.

Francesca McDaid has sought planning permission for a pet crematorium at Glack/Bohullion, Inch Island.

The application is for a change of use of a part of an existing farm machinery shed and workshop to create a pet crematorium with incinerator and all associated site development works.

A decision from the local authority is due in April.

Last month, Glenfin-based vet, Ciaran Marley, was given the go-ahead for the development of a pet crematorium at Cloaghanmore in Glenfin.

One of the conditions of the grant of the planning is that the opening hours of the premises will be confined to between 8:30am-8pm from Monday to Friday, 8:30am-6pm on Saturdays and 2-6pm on Sundays.

The facility in Glenfin is expected to be in service before the end of 2023.
