The Met Éireann forecast for today brings a little light relief as it predicts it will be dry with some decent sunny spells.

Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees in light to moderate easterly or south-easterly breezes.

Tonight it will be generally dry with just a slight chance of showers.

Temperatures will fall to between -1 and +3 degrees, coolest inland with some patches of frost expected.

Winds very light and variable.

The amazing Aurora lights around the Donegal coastline last night were reported to be the best display since March 2016

Check out the various weather channels for further updates today as we could well possibly see strong conditions for similar sightings tonight too.
