A Stranorlar woman has launched a fundraiser to remember her 'incredibly brave' late husband, who died of cancer in October.
Stephen Kelly passed away at the Donegal Hospice in October following a battle with the illness.
As she approaches her 40th birthday at the end of March, Charlene Kelly has decided to mark the milestone by honouring her late husband's memory.
An iDonate page has already collected over €4,000. All of the proceeds will go to the Donegal Hospice, which cared for Stephen in his final days. You can donate here: https://www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/CharleneKelly
“From the minute we arrived there we met what I can only describe as angels in disguise who helped us through the toughest journey of our lives, their dedication, compassion and love shown to myself, Stephen our children and our families will never be forgotten,” Charlene said.
“Stephen was treated with the utmost respect and felt comfortable as soon as he arrived. Every single staff member went above and beyond our expectations.
“We are extremely lucky to have this service in Donegal they have helped so many families over the last twenty years.”
Stephen, late of Gortletteragh, Stranorlar, was survived by Charlene, their children Caitlin, Ben and Jack, and a wide circle of family and friends.
