Actions need to be followed up says Cllr Patrick McGowan

Procedural issues such as the holding of workshops and following up on actions agreed at previous meetings were raised at the start of Monday's meeting of the Lifford-Stranorlar Municipal District by cathaoirleach, Cllr Patrick McGowan.

He asked officials from all sections to try to organise items like workshops on dates well in advance of municipal district meetings.

"I know sectors would like to hold workshops on different items and instead of holding them every other day we could fix certain dates in advance."

Councillors agreed to leave Friday, April 28 free for the next one if needed and notify all sections that this date was available.

Cllr McGowan raised a similar concern during the economic development, information systems and emergency services section report.

He said councillors should go through the minutes of previous meetings to make sure they are getting responses to the queries they raised with all council sections.

"There's quite a lot of issues being raised and whatever actions agreed are not being carried out. I'd like managers from all areas to go through them. We need to see responses and updates," he said.
