Ciaran Brogan
It is envisaged that work will begin on a new 110-bed and medical rehab community nursing unit in Letterkenny this August.
Fianna Fáil Councillor, Ciaran Brogan, asked when construction work would begin on the unit at the Regional Health Forum West, held last week.
He was informed that the tender process for the award of a public works contract unit is well
advanced with tender submissions being returned to HSE. The evaluation of tenders received is underway and it is anticipated that a number of weeks will be required to complete
this process, including any matters of clarification arising.
Once the evaluation process is completed, HSE Board approval will be sought for the award of a public works contract to the successful bidder and it is intended to seek Board approval at the May or June 2023 meeting. It is hoped that on-site works will begin in late August 2023 and are likely to take up to 2.5 years to complete.
