Emily celebrates her victory at the World championships
A 19-year-old Irish dancer from Dungloe has just scooped her third world title.
Emily Colangelo won the U19 section at the World Irish Dancing Championship in Montreal, Canada on Friday, the third time she achieved this remarkable feat.
Emily, who is a member of the McNelis Cunningham School of Irish Dancing, has now won almost everything in her competitive career ranging from local, county, regional, national and international accolades. She has been dancing since she was three years old and currently studying for the Leaving Certificate examination at the Rosses Community School in Dungloe.
Proud dad Ben says this victory will probably mark the end of her competitive career.
"Her brother Thomas who has four Ulster titles is currently dancing with the Celtic Legends tour in France and I think Emily would like to experience something like that with one of the Irish dancing shows before she decides on a career path for the future."
Emily and her family will arrive back at Donegal Airport, Carrickfinn tomorrow, Sunday around 12.50pm where she will be met by her many friends and supporters before returning home to Dungloe.
