A section of the Cormac Road outside Stranorlar
A road locally described as "lethal" comes under the microscope today, when the residents of Stranorlar and Cavan Lower area, members of the public and other interested parties are being invited by Donegal County Council to participate in this first public consultation for the N15 Corcam Bends Road Scheme.
The council says this stretch of roadway is currently at Option Identification Stage. The aim of the consultation is to receive feedback on the preliminary options prior to deciding on an emerging preferred option that will ultimately shape what kind of work is done on the 1km stretch.
A public display of the study area and identified constraints will take place in Kee’s Hotel, Main Street Stranorlar, today Thursday, April 20 between 2pm and 7pm
County Council staff and their design consultants will be available to listen to and register your views.

Speaking at a meeting in Ballybofey on Monday night where the issue was raised recently Cllr Patrick McGowan said there were four routes being examined, three following existing roads from Stranorlar to Lifford and another going around a field.
"They will have to connect and maybe even join up a couple of the entrances together," he said.
He described the Corcam bends as "lethal" and explained that a public consultation was needed because without it no planning or money will be available for the work.
He said the area was prone to many accidents and it was important for anyone who witnessed any crashes to report them to the council or the gardaí
"Statistics are vital to highlight the dangers this area poses and strengthen the argument to have this road fixed," he added.
