St Eunan's College.
Measures are to be installed at St Eunan’s College in Letterkenny to prevent people from parking on the footpaths around the school.
Some areas of the pavements have been damaged by vehicles.
Donegal County Council are set to address the issue in ‘the coming weeks’.
Letterkenny-based Fine Gael Councillor Jimmy Kavanagh has raised the matter at two recent meetings of the Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District.
He called for repairs to the footpath near St Eunan’s College and close to the Hugh Duffy car park. Councillor Kavanagh has also asked about the erection of a barrier at the gate to St Eunan’s College.
“Some areas of paving have become damaged due to vehicles parking on paved areas intended for pedestrian use only,” Donegal County Council said.
“The design team have identified measures to deter vehicles from parking on the footway and will but putting these measures into place over the coming weeks.
“The footway repairs have been dependent on ESB works being completed, as these works have the potential to further damage pavers.
“It is expected that ESB will complete their works by the end of April and paver repairs will be completed by the end of May.”
