The Rougey suite at the Bundoran Community Centre was the hospitable setting for an evening of poetry and song to celebrate poetry Day Ireland event on Thursday evening last.
On the evening twelve locals read their favourite poems and then discussed why they chosen them.

They expressed their thoughts about why they chosen the particular poem and what they individually meant to them.
All were known and prominent people in the area, including actors, screenwriters and producers. There was also an eclectic mix of songwriters, businesspeople, and even a politician in the mix.
Huge credit was extended to Paddy Donoghue, organiser of ''An Evening of Poetry and Song''.
The event was free, but donations were most welcome on the evening.
Music on the night was supplied by jazz duo, Sabrosa and it is hoped that such an event will happen again in the resort, in the not too distant future.
