28 cruise ships will visit Killybegs this summer.

The first vessel, the colourful, 294 metre long Norwegian Star, will arrive on May 16. This will be the first of four visits, breaking the previously held record for the longest ship to berth in Killybegs by less than the length of a ruler.

The previous record holder was Cunard’s Queen Victoria in 2018 but the Norwegian Star will only retain the title for four months until it is smashed by the 326m Norwegian Getaway on September 28 which will extend beyond the 300m pier.

Killybegs will also welcome first-time visitor Mein Schiff 3 at 293m and returning guest Arcadia at 285m.

In total the hard-working linesmen of Killybegs Harbour will tie up 6,000m of cruise ships this summer but the industriousness doesn’t stop there.

In the tourist office and on the quayside the Killybegs Information Centre’s staff will greet up to 50,000 crew and passengers from the ships and introduce them to the delights of Killybegs and Donegal.

Sinbad Marine Services Ltd are proud to be acting as agents for this unprecedented levelof business.

With these visiting ships attracting thousands of sightseers to the town, it’s looking like a bumper summer for Killybegs!
