End of an era as popular shopkeeper calls it a day

The Frosses community came out in force for Michael Thomas’s last day behind the counter

The community of Frosses was out in force as Michael Thomas spent his final day as shopkeeper in the Village Shop. Local photographer Colm Kelly of Kelly’s Sunday Dander on Facebook was on hand to capture the occasion.

Colm told Donegal Live: “Michael was in the shop for ten years.

“He had many wonderful staff throughout who helped him make it a real centre of the Frosses community.

“Michael is still involved with many local groups so he's not going away.”

Michael had leased the shop from the Burke family who previously ran the business themselves for many years. Future plans for the premises have not yet been announced.
