Gardai have issued a warning after twelve motorists were given speeding fines in the space of an hour on the Letterkenny Dual Carriageway on Sunday.

Gardai on the N13 road between the Dry Arch roundabout and the Manor roundabout clocked the speedsters.

With thunderstorms breaking out over Donegal, road conditions are wet in patches.

The road is governed by a speed limit of 100km/h. One of the motorists was clocked at 149km/h.

“These drivers will now each have to pay a fine of €160 and will receive three penalty points,” a Garda spokesperson said.

“Slow down. For all those returning home today from the Donegal International Rally we ask you to please drive with care. The roads are now wet and conditions may be dangerous as a result.”
