A Donegal man has been charged with the rape of a woman in Inishowen.

The accused man, who is in his 30s, cannot be named to protect the identity of his alleged victim.

He is charged with raping the woman twice at the same named location on September 29, 2019.

The case was mentioned at Letterkenny District Court before Judge Éiteáin Cunningham.

The man was charged Contrary to Section 48 of the Offences Against the Persons Act , 1861 and Section 2 of the Criminal Law (Rape) Act, 1981 as amended by section 21 of the Criminal Law (Rape) (Amendment) Act, 1980.
