Sixth class students at Creeslough’s Scoil Mhuire were guests of GAA President Larry McCarthy at Croke Park and they were treated to a fabulous tour and meal by the staff at GAA headquarters.

School principal John O'Doherty, sixth class teacher Clare Gallagher, local teacher Holly McCarry and St Michael's chairman Liam McElhinney accompanied the class.

There was a further surprise for these young students as with the help of former Minister Pat the Cope Gallagher they were also treated to a tour of the Dáil where they were greeted by the Sinn Fein trio of Pearse Doherty Padraig McLaughlin and young local man Brandon McColgan and by TD Joe McHugh.

For these young students, their second last day at Scoil Mhuire will always be a great memory for them.

“We would also like to acknowledge Martin McGettigan from the Bonnington Hotel who very kindly laid on a meal for the entire group before they made their way back to the north-west to finish off a day to remember,” said a spokesperson. “A word of thanks also to our bus driver Conor Carroll.”
