Make sure your right to vote is secure

With elections to Donegal County Council, the European Parliament, and a referendum less than a year away, it's time for those entitled to vote to engage with the latest Check the Register campaign.

The current campaign aims to encourage everyone, including those already registered to vote, to checktheregister.ie and either confirm or update their details.

Adding details including date of birth and PPSN allows local authorities to cross-check and confirm the information provided by each person, adding to the integrity of the process.

"In a year when there is a referendum promised and less than 12 months before we have local and European elections everyone is encouraged to act now to get ahead to ensure their information is correct," a spokesperson said.

In addition to using the checktheregister.ie facility, members of the public can contact Donegal County Council’s Franchise Unit by telephone (074) 91 72273 or by e-mail franchise@donegalcoco.ie
