The new wheelchair access area to the rear of the bus station
Cllr Barry Sweeny has confirmed that from Tuesday next, July 4, Bus Éireann will be accepting wheelchair bookings on Route 30/X30 from Ballyshannon, Enniskillen, Virginia, Cavan, Dublin (Busáras) and Dublin Airport.
He said: "Access for All is such an important issue, and after much campaigining, planning and enabling I am happy that Bus Eireann will launch this service next week and would like to thank them for their work to ensure this is up and running.

"I also hope that the service can be extended in the not to distant future to include Donegal Town," he added.
The functionality to book online will be deployed on Monday at 9am, and customers will then be able to book online for services departing after 9am Tuesday.
Customers wishing to make their booking before Monday can call 0818 836 611 up to 24 hours in advance of their scheduled departure time.
Route 30/X30 serves Dublin to Donegal including locations such as Dublin Airport and Cavan. The six accessible stops are located at Dublin (Busáras), Dublin Airport, Cavan, Virginia, Enniskillen and Ballyshannon.
“We are excited to launch this facility and customers can book from 9am Monday, 3 June 2023”, said Andrew Yates, Head of Expressway. “Bookings can be made online at expressway.ie or over the phone on 0818 836 611, up to 24 hours in advance of departure. We look forward to developing and implementing more accessible services across Expressway routes later this year”.

Bus Eireann currently have 17 wheelchair accessible stops spread across five routes.
Bus Éireann say they are committed to the provision of a fully accessible public transport system incorporating wheelchair accessible vehicles and infrastructure.
