There is a need for a more digital hubs south of the Gweebarra, Councillor Anthony Molloy said today. 

The former Cathaoirleach of the Glenties Municipal District commended all the work that has been done to date in relation to digital hubs in other areas of the county but added that there is a lack of hubs in the south of the county. 

"There is  a huge lack in the other side of the Gweebarra," he said. 

He added that the Aisling Centre in Kilcar was a great initiative but that those who were renting were leaving because of lack of broadband. 

"We have two people there who cannot do their business there and we are prepared to pay for fibre," he said. 

He outlined the difficulties that people in the area have with broadband at the Glenties Municipal District which was held at the Dungloe Public Services Centre, today, Tuesday.
