A new album due to be released later this month will do its bit for charity as well as presenting a selection of top-class traditional and folk musicians and singers from Donegal.
The Healing Hands CD will be launched on Sunday, July 23, in the Aislann Ran na Feirste and then on Thursday, July 27, in Leo's Tavern, Meenaleck-Crolly. Maréad Ni Mhaonaigh from Altan will launch the CD.
There, Doctors Without Borders will already be presented a check worth €3,000 before any CD had been sold. The album features Mairéad Ni Mhaonaigh, Manus Lunny (Capercaillie) and Eamon McElholm ( Solas, Stockton's Wing).
“On this CD I also wanted to find out whether the metallic sound of my handpan could bring a hitherto unknown timbre to Irish music,” says Harald ‘Mór’ Juengst, who worked on bringing the released together. “I would like to use the proceeds from the sale of this album to support and honour the ‘Healing Hands’ of the ‘Doctors Without Borders’ in their very important humanitarian work worldwide. For the sake of the good cause, I really would appreciate your comments, reviews and airplays”.
This CD will be available for €15.00 in west Donegal shops and also through Harald’s website, www.harald-juengst.com.
