Councillor Michael McClafferty hopes N56 planning restrictions raised in Dáil

Cllr says young people are leaving the area because of restrictive planning on N56

The Cathaoirleach of the Glenties Municipal District has said he hopes that restrictive planning conditions on the N56 will be raised in Dáil Éireann by Donegal TDs following a meeting that took place in the County House in Lifford this morning.

A meeting to discuss the National Policy which restricts access onto the National Secondary Route N56 was held in Lifford.

Independent Councillor Michael McClafferty said: "Our four TDs have come to listen to our views on this serious matter and hopefully raise it Dáill as a collective representing the people of Donegal.

"So many young people mainly in Donegal cannot get access on to the N56 forcing them to move to other countries through no fault of there own. Everybody deserves a roof over their head or at least a site to try and build on, where possible."
