Strong winds forecast for Saturday have led to a number of coastal events being cancelled or rescheduled around Donegal.
Among them is the annual 2.4km Bundoran Bay Swim from Tullan Strand to the main beach. A number of other related events due to take place in Bundoran throughout Saturday have also been postponed. They will instead take place on Sunday, August 13.
A spokesperson for Bundoran Community Centre told Donegal Live: "With the bad weather, we had to postpone the Bundoran Bay Swim. The new date is Sunday, August 13.
"This swim is a fundraiser for the Bundoran Community Centre. If you or anyone you know is interested in swimming from Tullan Strand to the Boat Quay please check out www.bundoranbayswim.com
"We will also have a fun day down at the Boat Quay too with food vendor, face painting, handmade market and a ball race to raise money for the community centre. Balls are available here in the centre at reception or on the day at the boat quay."
Another family event taking place on the day is the interactive beach art. Those taking part are invited to gather at the main beach on Sunday, August 13 at 11am.
The spokesperson said: "Bring your friends along and take part in this fun activity that has not been done before in Bundoran.
"Have you seen Spot the Whale? Artist Heather Cassidy is putting together an amazing large scale 18mx6m innovative, visual beach art. This involves holding cards that will be a reflective of Spot the Whale and a shot will be taken from above.
"We are looking for a lot of volunteers to help us achieve this."
The local Clean Coasts group are encouraging people to join them for a beach clean ahead of this event. The beach clean gets underway on Sunday, August 13 at 10am on the main beach.
