Interactive walks, identifying wild birds, singing, dancing and the céilí mór are all part of the 38th Féile an Earagail which will be officially opened by Fianna Fáil Councillor Anthony Molloy at the Community Centre, in Dunlewey, at 7.30pm on Friday, August 4.
The festival is run by a hard-working local committee.
On Wednesday, August 2, at 7pm there will be an interactive walk using an App to identify wild birds. The short walk will take place from the community centre.
On Thursday, August 3, a 5k walk/run will start from the community centre and registration for the event will begin at 6.30pm. Later at 10pm there will be an opportunity to test your general knowledge with a table quiz at McGeady's bar. A car treasure hunt from Roarty's shop will also take place with the last car out at 7pm on Sunday.
Following the official opening on Friday, Dr Joe Ó Ceallaigh will give a talk on the Drumboe Martyrs. This will be followed by a presentation to the Dunlewey Football Team who will celebrate their 50 years.
There will be a night at the races at McGeady's Bar with proceeds in aid of Dunlewey Football Club at 9.30pm.
A host of activities take place on Saturday - events begin with a lap of the lake at 11am, followed by coffee morning with music and entertainment featuring local traditional crafters and scavenger hunt taking place in Ionad Cois Locha from 12 to 2pm.
At 3pm a children's sports day will begin. A céilí mór and social dance will Martin Ó Dúgáin and John Cannon will take place in the community centre from 8.30pm.
The festival continues on Sunday with an exploration and geological 10k walk leaving community centre. Registration from 10am. This walk takes place in memory of the late Seán Ó Dónaill.
A children's fancy dress takes plae at 12.30pm and at 3pm a football match in memory of the late Micheál Boycee Roarty will take place at the Glentornán Football pitch.
Historian Brian Lacey will participate in a ciorcal comhrá in the community centre with friends at 4pm.
On Bank Holiday Monday, a fun-filled and vibrant day of events is due to take place at Roarty's shop. This will kick off with a car show. Margo and Daniel O Donnell are set to take to stage on Monday as are Diane and John Cannon, Conor O'Donnell, Olivia Douglas and the Hard to Beat band. The MC on day will be Raidió na Gaeltachta presenter Michelle Nic Grianna.
The proceeds from event will go to The Donegal Hospice and the Donegal Cancer Flight Services.
