Niall McGaughey was not present when his case was called at Letterkenny District Court on Thursday.

A 35-year-old, whose address was given as Barrack Hill Meadow, Sixmilecross, Omagh, was charged with an offence on July 27, 2023.

McGaughey was charged with being intoxicated in a public place at Lower Main Street, Letterkenny on that date.

He was also charged with failing to comply with directions from a member of An Garda Siochana and was further charged with using or engaging in any threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to provoke a breach of the peace or being reckless as to whether a breach of the peace may be occasioned.

The charges are contrary to the Criminal Justice (Public Order) Act, 1994.

Evidence of the arrest, charge and caution of McGaughey was submitted by way of schedule by Sergeant Jim Collins.
