Drumkeen NS submit plans for new floodlight sports facility

Scoil Phadraig NS, Drumkeen.

There are plans for a new floodlit sports facility at Drumkeen National School.

An application has been submitted to Donegal County Council for the proposed development.

Principal Frank McGlynn, on behalf of the Board of Management at Scoil Phadraig NS has sought permission for the construction of the all-weather sports field.

The proposed development would include associated floodlighting, fencing and the construction of a pedestrian access ramp and all ancillary site development works.

Former Donegal footballer McGlynn, a key member of Donegal’s All-Ireland winning squad in 2012, was appointed principal in 2019.

In the 2022/23 school year, there were 121 pupils enrolled in the school.

Donegal County Council anticipate that a decision on the application will be made by October 15 next.
