A new farm shop, Tullyhouse Organic Farm, has opened its doors for the very first time, in Ballyshannon, this week and it will provide people with great tasting local, organic food.

The shop has been set up by Ballyshannon farmer Andrew McShea, with his son Lorcan,5. Andrew says he has been considering the idea of establishing his own business for some time now and is delighted to have finally opened his doors to the public.

Most of the produce for sale in the shop is local and products include cabbage, carrots, onions, cauliflower, potatoes, oranges, apples and pears.

However, Andrew has also sourced produce which he is keen to bring to the local market from other farms as well. You will also find tomatoes, local eggs, drinks and other products on the shelves of the well-stocked shop. The shop officially opened its doors on Tuesday.

Andrew said: “We stock produce off the farm but we have some local produce stocked as well.”

He also has organic raw milk for sale in the shop which has been sourced from a farm in Leitrim. The shop also stocks organic wagyu beef which many deem a delicacy and is a much sought after item by restaurants.

“We have organic wagyu beef sourced from a farmer in Cork. We also have our own organic lamb, as well. This is something that we have been working on for a while now,” he said.

The shop which opened this week will be open until Thursday this week.

“From this week on, the shop will be open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday,” he said.

Many who enjoy fresh, local and organic produce will be delighted to hear that Andrew will be posting his produce on his Facebook page. People can then browse through the items and pick what they would like to purchase.

Andrew is also offering a delivery service which will save many people having to drive to his shop as he will deliver the products to people’s doorsteps.

“On Thursday evening we will be doing deliveries as well. I will put a list up on Facebook on Monday morning on what is available that week from the farm and people can pick out what they need and we will deliver it,” he said.

The eircode for the shop is F94 P798.
