'Overwhelming success' - Dublin to Drimarone Cycle raises a whopping €62,000

The Dublin to Drimarone Charity Cycle has raised a fantastic €62,000.

This year's event was held in memory of former participant Seamus McGinty.

One of the event's main organisers Fergus McGroary said: "Seamus is definitely smiling with pride again today as we are proud to announce that we have raised €62,000 on this years cycle.

"Thank you again to everyone who donated and well done to every last person involved. A fantastic amount of money for a very enjoyable event."

Around 70 cyclists completed the event last month.

The money raised will go towards the Patient Comfort at the Oncology Unit at Letterkenny University Hospital with contributions also being made to Letterbarrow Celtic Football Club and Drimarone Development Association.
