Relay For Life Donegal has paid a beautiful tribute to survivors choir member Astrid Mc Laughlin.

Astrid, née McGrory, Burnfoot, died at Letterkenny University Hospital on Friday. She is survived by her husband Raymond, son Barry, daughters Karen and Lynn, her grandchildren, sister, and brothers.

Astrid touched many lives, and this was captured beautifully by a Relay For Life spokesperson who took to social media to say:  "The Relay for Life family in Donegal, and especially our survivors choir, are deeply saddened at the death of our friend and colleague Astrid McLaughlin.

"Astrid's been a choir member for many years and her enthusiasm and friendship has epitomised the spirit of Relay, and the spirit of the choir.

"Àstrid was always smiling, and if there was a birthday or event to be celebratewho Astrid was usually the first person to produce a cake and a card.

"We send our condolences to her entire family, and especially to her husband Raymod, who has also spent many years in the choir singing and playing guitar.

"The choir has lost another of its stalwarts, but along with the others who went before her, we are in no doubt that Astrid will continue to inspire and encourage the choir, and everyone involved with Relay for Life Donegal.

"Rest in peace."
