A motorist faces a court date after being arrested on Saturday night following a cross-border pursuit.
Several Garda units were involved in the operations with assistance also called in from the PSNI.
Gardai from the Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit initially responded to a call in relation to a driver who was suspected to be driving while under the influence.
Officers observed the vehicle in the Letterkenny area, but the driver failed to do so when signalled to do so.
The motorist made off in the direction of the border. After the vehicle crossed the border, the assistance of the PSNI was requested.
The vehicle subsequently returned back across the border to Donegal. The driver was arrested and charged by Gardai.
A Garda spokesperson said: “A number of Garda Units from various areas were involved in the successful interception of this vehicle and the assistance given by the PSNI was also highly contributory towards the successful outcome.”
The spokesperson warned: “Do not take risks on the roads. Never drive while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.”
