The Atlantic Treasures Fish Stop in Killybegs announced they will close later this month.

Located on New Row Killybegs, the shop opened four years ago and sold fresh and frozen fish, a range of marinated and smoked prawns, tuna, seaweed products, jam and sea veg.

“Hi all, we have some news to share with you all, we will be closing the shop indefinitely at the end of September,” they posted. “With the current economic climate, ongoing increase in costs and lack of supply of fish, it has made the business unsustainable.

“We firstly and foremost would like to thank Ronan Cunningham for all his work and without him the shop simply wouldn’t have existed, to all our customers we would like to thank you all for your custom throughout the years and for supporting a local business.

“To Eithne Gallagher for being a great landlady and both the Killybegs community council and the Killybegs Regeneration Group for supporting the initial setup of the place, it was great to have another set of lights on in the Main Street.

“Ronan is off this coming week for some well-deserved holidays. The shop will remain open, he will be back week commencing 26th of September for his final week so call in to say hello, they’ll be some sales of the last little bits of product in store!! Thanks again everyone.”
