A hiker fell while on the Pilgrim path on Slieve League and a fisherman had to be removed to hospital following a medical emergency

Rescue teams tasked to attend two emergencies in south Donegal on Tuesday

The Killybegs Coast Guard alongside Rescue 118 were tasked to two emergencies in south Donegal on Tuesday. 

The alarm was raised at 14:47 by Malin Head Coast Guard who reported that someone had fallen while hiking up the Pilgrims Path on Slieve League. The team made their way to the casualty, administered first aid and transported the casualty to an awaiting National Ambulance Service (NAS) ambulance by stretcher.


The second call out came Killybegs Coast Guard at 23:00 when they were tasked to assist the National Ambulance Service (NAS) transfer a fisherman with a medical emergency from a fishing vessel.
