A Milford man has been introduced to the Donegal Courts Service having qualified as a solicitor in early 2023.
David McGinley comes from a family steeped in legal tradition.
His parents, Kyran and Margaret McGinley, established the very successful and respected McGinley Solicitors LLP more than 35 years ago.
Having studied economics, politics and law at DCU, David went on to complete a Masters from the Smurfit Business School before working with Google in Dublin and New York and then completing his professional law exams.
Mr McGinley has been formally introduced to the legal fraternity at Letterkenny District Court.
Veteran solicitor Frank Dorrian welcomed Mr McGinley to the court on behalf of the bar.
He said “He comes from a family that is well known in legal circles as the son of Kyran and Margaret McGinley.
“David has what can only be described as a glittering academic career. He studied economics, politics and law at DCU and has a Masters from the Smurfit Business School. He worked for Google in Dublin and New York and then completed his professional exams.
“It is my pleasure to welcome him to court. I can assure him of a welcome and a soft landing. There is a very good spirit among the legal profession here."
Sergeant Jim Collins welcomed the new solicitor on behalf of An Garda Siochana and the State.

Barrister Gareth McGrory BL, said he knew Mr McGinley on a personal level and was looking forward to working with him again in future.
Mr McGrory said: “I have had the pleasure of working with Mr McGinley in the past. He is a very diligent worker. He has big shoes to fill, although I’m not sure if they’re Mr McGinley’s or Mrs McGinley’s shoes!”
Judge Éiteáin Cunningham said she wanted to extend congratulations and a warm welcome to Mr McGinley.
Judge Cunningham said: “It goes without saying that he comes from a well renowned and professional legal background. His own education was exemplary. I have no doubt that he will be extremely successful.”
Judge Cunningham assured the new solicitor that the court will do anything to assist him.
Mr McGinley confirmed he is looking forward to building on the successful practice that was established by his parents by continuing to provide the excellent and professional standard of legal service for which McGinley Solicitors LLP, with offices in Milford, Letterkenny and Dublin are noted for.
