Emer Dunne is performing in the Abbey Arts Centre, Ballyshannon, on Friday, November 3 as part of her Autumn Tour ‘Folk Threads’.

Following Emer’s performance in Ballyshannon, during her ‘Hourglass’ Tour in 2022, she is returning to the Abbey Arts Centre with a brand new show. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show kicks off at 8 p.m.

Emer is collaborating with professional musicians, guitarist Eamonn Moran and All-Ireland Champion and fiddle legend, Michael Harrison. The three bring this fantastic new show, ‘Folk Threads’ that combines Irish, Scottish, English and American folk music. Emer will perform some of the timeless and meaningful songs such as ‘Sweet Sixteen’ and ‘Grace’.

“I am very excited to perform again at the Abbey Arts Centre and reach out to the people of Donegal and other neighbouring counties in this beautiful tiered theatre setting, where we hope the people of Ballyshannon and surrounding towns will come out to support and enjoy,” Emer Dunne said.

Emer is a singer from Laois, who has been making a name for herself in the folk scene around Ireland and overseas over the past couple of years since the release of her debut album, ‘Hourglass’ produced by Bill Shanley. Emer’s voice has already featured on the national and regional airwaves over the past few years such as RTÉ, BBC and many more.

Post-pandemic Emer got back to the stage in the Spring of 2022 with her ‘Hourglass Tour’ where she performed at several theatres and venues around the country. Continuing on this success, 2023 saw Emer invited on tour with folk legends, The Fureys, as she performed in venues including the Gleneagle and Vicar Street. The highlight of her summer shows was performing at the Forest Fest Festival and sharing the stage with a host of great acts including Sharon Shannon, Paul Brady and Stockton’s Wing.
