Bri Carr, centre, will be joined by a host of acts at Lifford Courthouse including Bernie Doherty and Anne Biddie
Singer-singwriter Bri Carr will host an album launch and concert in the Lifford Courthouse tonight, Saturday, with proceeds going to Donegal Hospice.
Living in Ramelton, Bri's first album is called ‘Song of the Sea’. Margo O’Donnell heard her new single ‘My Island Mother’ on radio, and invited her to open her concert in Letterkenny earlier this month.
“An absolute honour and privilege,” was how Bri described it.
“I am very much looking forward to this special night, and to introducing my guests from the Wild Atlantic Women; Bernie Doherty, Buncrana (The Music Box, The Inishowen Choir of Ages); Anne Biddie, Fanad (award-winning country music songstress); Helena McNally, Letterkenny (Jazz and blues, Colmcille Gospel Choir); Maggie MacAteer, Rathmullan (Colmcille Gospel Choir, Errigal College); Audrey Coyle, Letterkenny (Coyle Family Band, Carndonagh Musical, Rainbow Theatre Group); Micaiah Harte, Lifford (Letterkenny Music and Drama Soc) with a special appearance from Cór Ailigh under the direction of Anne Nicholls, Letterkenny.
“My own daughter, Caela, from the Wild Atlantic Wains and a few other surprises on the night ensures a lovely warm evening of sing-along songs and stories, in a relaxed, intimate concert spanning all genres from country to folk, jazz to gospel, and a wee bit of Gaeilge - all in aid of the Donegal Hospice.”
Tickets are €15, with proceeds going to the Donegal Hospice. Get your tickets now at reception, online here or by calling 00353749141733. Doors open at 7pm, with music starting at 8pm.
