Andrew Porter swaps jerseys with Inishowen RFC's U-12 players on Friday in Carndonagh
Some of Inishowen's U-12s had the pleasure of meeting one of Ireland's finest rugby players, Andrew Porter, in Carndonagh ahead of their blitz in Ballymena on Friday evening.
“The Irish prop was an absolute gentleman and very generous with his time greeting all the excited fans,” the club said. “Inishowen U-12s captain Michael Keogh presented Porter with the club jersey and the international presented the club with an Ireland jersey. It was a wonderful experience for the young players who went on to play their hearts out in the Blitz in Ballymena that evening.”
Inishowen U-12s boys and girls played great rugby and thoroughly enjoyed their matches with Rainey RFC, City Of Derry Rugby Football Club, Limavady Rugby Club FC and Ballymena RFC.
Porter was part of the Irish team that reached the quarter-finals of the Rugby World Cup in France, where they reached the quarter-finals before losing out 28-24 against New Zealand.
