A local resident has voiced his dissatisfaction at the state the side of the road was left in on the outskirts of Letterkenny.

Kevin Doherty, from Coolboy, Illistrin, and his daughter, who was on her midterm break from primary school, took it upon themselves them clear up the rubbish on Sunday. He took to Facebook afterwards to show photographs of the mess.

“Yet again more rubbish left for someone else to pick up,” Kevin posted. “This time multiple bin bags dumped at the side of the road full of nappies and takeaway wrappers.

“It's bad when your 11-year-old daughter has to spend the last day of her Halloween holidays picking up after others can't be bothered to dispose of their own rubbish.”
