A Glenties woman's photo was crowned the winner of RTÉ's Weather Photo Competition.

Sharon Lynch set off on her bike one morning at 7am to capture Glenmacannive and it was certainly with the early rise as she caught the rising mist spectacularly.

"I love landscape photography and being out in nature and love the changing seasons," Sharon told DonegalLive. "The name of the place I took photo is Glenmacannive in Glenties one Autumn morning when everyone else was sleeping I headed off on my bike to capture the scene. It was a slippery cycle but worth it in the end."

Nuala Carey from RTÉ weather congratulated Sharon live on air. Running for over 20 years, the RTÉ Weather Photo Competition continues to be as popular as ever, offering amateur photographers and the general public alike an opportunity to showcase and share their talent. Photos are used as a backdrop for the RTÉ Weather bulletins and in the ever-popular calendar, which is published every year.
