The Donegal Local Association of An Taisce, The National Trust for Ireland is hosting a public meeting in the Station House Hotel Letterkenny on Saturday.
The title of the event is “An Taisce – Protecting the Treasures of Donegal”. Speakers will be Gary Freemantle the CEO of An Taisce, Phoebe Duvall, the An Taisce Planning and Environmental Policy Officer, Alena Kunkel An Taisce Clean Coasts Officer for Donegal and Noel Foley Chair of An Taisce Donegal Local Association.
“We would like to tell you what An Taisce does here in Donegal and nationwide, to share ideas and engage in a friendly discussion,” they said. “The meeting will look at the good and the bad of how we treat our immediate surroundings and the wider world. It will examine the challenges we face to ensure our world is protected for the mental, physical and spiritual health of ourselves and of the generations to come. It will look at what we are doing and the opportunities we must take for the benefit of all.”
An Taisce, The National Trust for Ireland is primarily a membership organisation, advocating for sustainable planning and policy and the protection of our natural and built environment along with other environmental issues on local, national, and European levels.
The Education Unit designs and delivers key environmental education programmes, such as Green Schools, Clean Coasts & the National Spring Clean programmes. Local events such as Clean Ups, Nature Walks, and Legacy4Life projects are programmes developed by An Taisce.
“Please join us, and bring a friend, for an entertaining and thought-provoking two hours on November 25, 12 noon, at the Station House Hotel, Letterkenny,” they added. “Everyone is welcome, it is free, no need to book. Complimentary refreshments served.”
