Letterkenny service offers free Christmas clean-up to 10 mica-affected families

A Letterkenny man has taken the Christmas spirit to a new level by offering to do a clean-up on 10 mica-affected houses in the county free of charge.

Peter Blake runs Peadar Jim's Cleaning Services and guesses that a quarter of his company’s customers have mica, so has launched a competition on his facebook account, from where the 10 lucky winners will be selected at random.

“Free clean and wash for 10 houses affected by Mica starting this Friday and every Friday after till 10 is done,” he posted. “I've been cleaning properties now for nine years but unfortunately Mica is mentioned in one out of four I do now.

“I know from doing these projects that most want street done as the house itself is crumbling and want to just lift ground area and make it homely. I'd like to clean a full house for 10 families before Xmas - the first four jobs starting each Friday. The first is Friday, December 1 and every Friday till we do 10 anywhere in Donegal.

“So like and share and nominate who you think needs their house cleaned plus it'll definitely lift your mood. No Charge of course. Hopefully families with kids who need their property cleaned for Santa's arrival - I’ll travel anywhere in Donegal. Really hope this helps.”
