Investigations are ongoing into a house fire in Letterkenny on Sunday evening,
A blaze engulfed the house in the Long Lane area.
No-one was injured in the fire.
Fire crews battled to bring the blaze under control. Several tenders from the local Fire Service attended the scene.
A spokesperson for the Garda Press Office has confirmed that enquiries are ongoing.
Sinn Féin Councillor Gerry McMonagle says the scene was ‘heartbreaking’.
“By the time the fire service arrived, the house was engulfed,” he said. “Thankfully no-one was hurt and everyone was able to get out. It was a sad event for the family involved. I’m sure everyone will rally round now and help them in any way that we can.”
