The Capuchin Day Centre receives a donation of €6,200 and food supplies

A collection was held for the Capuchin Day Centre in various areas of Donegal and a sum of €6,200 was raised as well as food supplies. A group of locals in Leitir helped load up the van with food supplies which was sent to Dublin last Sunday. 

The food and money was raised by Fr Eddie Gallagher, Leitirmacaward and delivered by Mary Anderson, Killybegs. This is the tenth time the donation has been made to the Capuchin Day Centre.

The Capuchin Day Centre located on Bow Street in Dublin city centre was founded by Brother Kevin Crowley in 1969. It provides a service for homeless people in Dublin, giving them access to food, shelter, hygiene facilities and medical services. The day centre provides around 700 meals a day inclusive of breakfast and dinner and every Wednesday, the centre donates 1400 food parcels to those in need.
