Four sheep have been found dead in Baltoney, Gortahork, following a late-night dog attack. There are concerns other sheep will lose their lambs following the attack late on Monday night.

Independent Councillor Michael McClafferty has condemned the killing adding that thousands of euro has been lost days before Christmas. The matter is being investigated by gardaí, he said.

“People need to know where their dogs are at all times. This family is at a loss of thousands of euros plus all the stress this has put them under watching this horrendous situation unfold. When something awful happens up or down the road you feel it and our hearts go out to this particular family on the days of Christmas.”

Anyone with information should contact Milford Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
