Donegal sports stars Chloe Magee and Packie Mailey got married on New Year’s Eve.
The couple wed at a lavish function, which was held at the stunning Beech Hill Country House in Derry.
Three-time Olympian Chloe and former Finn Harps captain Packie are no strangers to the big stage.
Family and friends gathered at the fabulous Beeech Hill, a 17th century manor house, to ring in the new year with the happy couple at a New Year’s bash with an extra special reason to celebrate.
The bride, a native of Raphoe who wore a dress from Pearls and Lace Bridal, was attended to by Miriam Magee, Louise Goudie and Rachael Darragh. Convoy man Packie had Jonathan Mailey, Declan Gavigan and Laurence McMullan by his side for the big day.
Sarah Allan sang while Laura McFadden was on the cello and the night ended with an amazing fireworks display over Beech Hill.
In October, Chloe was appointed as Badminton Ireland’s first Women in Sport and National Development Manager.
She represented Ireland at the Olympic Games in 2008, 2012 and 2016 and, playing alongside her brother Sam, she won mixed doubles bronze medals at the 2017 European Championships and at the European Games in 2015 and 2019.
Packie now operates the popular M32 Soccer Academy having played 170 times during two spells at Finn Harps. As a youth, he spent time on the books at Hibernian FC, a period that included a loan spell at Stenhousemuir, while he has also played for Drumkeen United and Ballinamallard and was most recently with Bonagee United.
