The Irish Independent has revealed the Reader Travel Awards 2024, Ireland’s top 10 beaches.

Rossnowlagh beach placed tenth in the travel awards and it is the only Donegal beach to feature on the list.

Rossnowlagh beach was described by the Reader Travel Awards as having “surfing, sandcastles, sandwiches, pizza and coffee, all there! Fantastic for water activities, walking or lazing on the golden sand.”

Rossnowlagh beach displays picturesque scenery as well as being one of Ireland’s best surfing beaches.

The south Donegal beach is located between Ballintra and Ballyshannon. Rossnowlagh is one of the county’s largest beaches and it is also among the 12 blue flag beaches that Donegal has to offer.

The top three beaches featured on the list were: Curracloe, Wexford, taking first place; Inch Beach, Kerry; and Keem Bay, Mayo.

The Irish Independent Reader Travel Awards covers various travel categories from the nation’s best hotel to the best holiday destinations to the best tourist attractions. The top 10 beaches have been released but the full results will be released in the Irish Independent's Weekend magazine on Saturday.
