A Moville man has pleaded guilty to having drugs for the purpose of sale or supply.

Gavin McGuinness was before Letterkenny Circuit Court, where he tendered a guilty plea.

McGuinness, a 36-year-old of Bath Terrace, Moville, was formally arraigned before Judge John Aylmer.

He spoke only to plead guilty to the charge relating to January 25, 2021 at his home address. He was charged that he unlawfully had in his possession a controlled drug, cannabis, for the purpose of selling or otherwise supplying it to others.

Mr Colm Smyth SC, barrister for McGuinness, requested a probation report on behalf of his client.

Judge Aylmer requested the preparation of a report, to include suitability for community service.

The case was adjourned until the October session of Letterkenny Circuit Court.
