The Donegal Silage Competition winners in Letterkenny

Homeland & Nutrias Animal Feeds were delighted to present the winners of the 2023 Donegal Silage Competition their awards at the Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny, at Aurivo’s ‘Our Farming Future 2024’ event. 

Congratulations were passed onto all category winners and the Overall Donegal Silage Competition Winner for 2023. Some 461 entries were received for the competition with quality averages of 28.4 Dry Matter, 13.2 CP and 70 DMD noted in the sample analysis. 

During the event industry experts including Dr Finbarr O'Regan from the Department of Agriculture, Conor Brown from ICBF and Adam Woods, Deputy Editor at The Irish Farmer's Journal gave updates and guest judge Andrew Wright, better known as @FarmTheoryNI on YouTube and TikTok gave a presentation on Silage best practice and a typical day in the life.

"Thank you to all our customers, suppliers, colleagues and friends who came on the evening from Team Homeland and Nutrias Animal Feeds," a spokesperson said.
