Natalia with her daughter Yuliia at a Margo concert in the Waterfront before Christmas
Natalia Zimevska travelled to Mexico last month to visit her son and suffered a brain hemorrhage.
Natalia’s son, Roman fled to Mexico when the war started and he sent tickets to Natalia and her husband Olek to come visit him in Mexico in mid-January.
Natalia became unwell in Mexico and does not have travel insurance so she is left with over €50,000 medical bills that her family can not afford.
Natalia is still ill in hospital in Mexico. She has had successful surgery and will now need post-operative care before she can return home to Arranmore.
Natalia and Olek have been residing in Arranmore for the last year, moving from Ukraine to be with their daughter Yuliia and her family on the island.
“The Arranmore community, who have warmly welcomed Natalia's family, is launching a fundraising campaign on iDonate to help cover the medical expenses,” John McCafferty, Manager of the Arranmore Community Centre shared.
“Despite their recent challenges, the family and friends have already raised €25,000, and they seek support to bridge the remaining gap. Please consider donating to support this cause and share her story to help spread awareness.
“Together, we can provide the financial assistance needed for Natalia's medical bills and wish her a speedy and full recovery."
