Woman banned from almost all Letterkenny shops has bail conditions partially lifted

A woman who was banned from visiting almost all shops in Letterkenny has had her bail conditions partially lifted.

Jodie Quill, who faces a range of alleged shoplifting offences in the town, appeared before Letterkenny District Court.

Quill and her alleged accomplice Nakita Brogan are accused of stealing almost €1,200 worth of goods from various shops across the town.

The pair had been dubbed Bonnie and Clyde at a previous court sitting after they had failed to turn up for a previous court sitting after being detained in Northern Ireland. Ms Quill's solicitor, Mr Rory O'Brien, said he was seeking to have her bail conditions lifted.

Ms Quill, with an address at Carraig Craobh, Crievesmith, Letterkenny, had been ordered to sign on at Letterkenny Garda Station.

The 25-year-old was also ordered to stay out of Letterkenny Shopping Centre, Letterkenny Retail Park and all the shops on the town's Main Street. Mr O'Brien said that this meant effectively the entire town.

After consultation with Garda Sergeant Maurice Doyle, it was agreed that Ms Quill could return and shop at Letterkenny Shopping Centre which includes the Tesco store.

Her signing-on days at the local Garda station were also reduced in number from three days to two days. Judge Eiteain Cunningham adjourned Ms Quill's case until May 24th next.
