If you did not get polling card for the recent referendum, voters have been asked to again go to checktheregister.ie and check your details after Cllr Albert Doherty (SF) had asked what the continued plan to update the Register of Electors, following on from the recent Referendum.
In a question to the March meeting of Donegal County Council he asked what pressing issues had the general public presented for the council staff attention on inclusivity, register update and general related issues to be highlighted and addressed before the Referendum, Local and European elections in June 2024?
He also asked how can all play an assistive and informative role in the interim?
In reply, he was informed by Patsy Lafferty, Director of Housing, Corporate & Cultural Services:
“Having examined various issues arising from the recent referendum polling event, the Council can confirm that every individual receiving a polling card is evidence that they are on the electoral register and are entitled to vote.
“In all other cases, it is advised that people go to www.checktheregister.ie, in order to
either update their details, or apply for the first time for registration.”
