The Family Fun Walk/Talk will take place in Castlefin on Saturday afternoon
The Castlefin community are holding a fundraiser this Saturday for the Brennan family, whose pub, Tinney’s Bar, went on fire earlier this month.
The Castlefin Community are holding Family Fun Walk/Talk and Jog on Easter Saturday, March 30, at 12:30pm. The meet-up point in the CPI Centre where those taking part will walk or job to Cloughfin and back.
There is no entry fee. Instead, a donation box will be in operation and for those unable to attend, they can contact Dermot McGranaghan on 087-2682856.
He posted: “So many people wondering what they can do to help for our community walk/jog on Easter Saturday. Just turn up on the day and give a few €s to this worthy cause, this will be a lovely community gathering. We have some spot prizes to give away.
“The Children will get an Easter treat, kindly sponsored by Laura and Shirley. Adults will get a cuppa and some nice home baking in the Whitehouse Garden afterwards. If anyone wants to do a few sandwiches or home baking just contact Mary 087-7712075 or Lisa 087-7516089. We might even have a wee bake sale if we get all you bakers into action!"
“It’s all happening in Castlefin this Saturday,” the event organisers said. “We are holding a fundraiser for the Brennan family who lost everything in their business premises when it went up on fire.
“Please share for us we welcome as many people as possible to Castlefin CPI Centre to join us. You are not obligated to donate anything but if you have a spare euro please do donate it in the donation boxes.
“We have a walk / jog taking place along with live music playing, loads of fun free Easter eggs for the kids some spot prizes and some local business donations including Curious Coffees coffee van that’s always located in the CPI grounds. They are donating €1 for every coffee they sell and O'Hehirs bakery donating some bakes along with much more local support and charity donations!!! Please consider coming along and supporting and a lovely day out.
